We finally found a small window amongst the shit weather in the Coromandel this weekend to shoot out for a dive.

Aside from a bit of swell, the conditions were great, little to no wind, 10-12m vis, and surprisingly blue water.

We left Whitianga and made it easily out to the mercs. The spots we stopped at were all pretty fishy and we ended up with a good mixed bag of butterfish, koheru, and crayfish. We finished the trip on a good weedline landing a kingfish each.

Haden whipped up a potato, leek, butterfish and cray soup for lunch (highly recommend this combo if you have a cooker on your boat!)

Bloody good to get in the water again. It’s definitely chilled off since the last time I dived!
