Chermoula Kingfish Steak

This is a quick and easy way to use kingfish, with a spice mix that sits really well with seafood. Chermoula is a traditional Moroccan spice blend that includes lemon, paprika and cumin and is ideal for rubs, or in this case a marinade.

To make this dish, cut yourself a hearty kingfish steak. In a bowl mix up even parts Chermoula Spice (I use the Alexandra’s one from New World) with hot water. Let this sit for 15 mins, then add some olive oil and lemon juice and mix to a paste.

Coat your kingfish steak in the paste and let sit for 30 mins in the fridge. Cook on the bbq or in a pan! It’s that easy.

I served mine with Kumara puree, which I made by blitzing boiled purple kumara, garlic, and avocado oil in a food processor. Top with a good squeeze of lemon and you’re good to go!
